Jimenez wins Tahoe-Douglas Rotary music contest


Tahoe-Douglas Rotary held its 2012 club-level music contest Feb. 24 at Whittell High School. Each student had to play an instrument for 3-8 minutes. The winner, Nina Jimenez of Whittell High School, won $175 and advanced to the area level, with a chance to go to the district competition. Sabrina Swoger, second from left, placed second for a $100 prize, Veronica Charles placed third for a $50 prize, and Alex Sanchez placed fourth for a $25 prize.
