Join zombies in lurch from Embassy Suites to Tahoe Bowl this Sunday

Michael D. Stroschein

At 2 p.m. on Sunday, the streets of South Lake Tahoe will be filled with the moaning undead and staggering legions of ghoulish fiends.

That’s right. For a brief time the dead will lurch through our community toward their destination. Where could they be going, you might ask? Toward the tasty flesh of the living? In search of brain hors d’oeuvres, perhaps?

Not this time: On this historic day, they will stagger toward Tahoe Bowl for an afternoon of zombie bowling (careful with those decaying fingers.)

Put on your best ghoulish attire, slather on the fake blood, and paint your skin gray for the first Zombie Walk SLT. Where else will you get a chance to wander the streets turning heads and quirking brows, while en route to a few frames of horror bowling? Besides, it’s open to all ages and is another excuse to celebrate Halloween a few days early.

Participants must arrive by 1:30 p.m. in front of Embassy Suites at Stateline for briefing and explanation of the route and rules.

To subscribe to the official Zombie Walk SLT group, e-mail sltzombiewalk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Information, rules for participation, and a map of the route may be found at http://www.myspace.com/zombiewalkslt or at Neighbors Bookstore in the Village Center. Direct e-mail with questions or comments to zombiewalk530@gmail.com or call Neighbors Bookstore at (530) 541-6296.

This will be an all-ages event, so bring the entire undead family.
