Judy Corkill

Judy Corkill lost her heroic 16-month battle with pancreatic cancer Friday, July 25 at the Carson Tahoe Hospital with her husband Bob and her two daughters by her side.

Judy had continued to test and treat her allergy patients at Dr. Martin’s Alpine Family Practice for all but the last few weeks of her battle. Judy was blessed to have her oldest daughter Veronica Scola join her working side by side for most of her 13 years in Tahoe.

Veronica continues Judy’s legacy of dedication to the wonderful patients Judy knew and often loved. Judy also worked for Dr. Steven Brown’s medical office in the Carson Valley and was honored that her youngest daughter Jennifer Hunt joined her in the medical field.

Judy delighted in helping others both in her private life as much as she was dedicated in her medical life. She was always sewing toys and buying gifts to give to Wilma at Christmas Cheer. Most weekends she and her daughters were busy garage sailing for old Barbie Dolls. Judy would then buy new outfits for the dolls, dress them and package them for the Lake Tahoe Women’s Center.

Judy’s other hobby was ceramics. She would always have dozens of scarecrows and holiday ornaments for school kids to paint.

Judy was never critical of anyone. Always happy to help others. Never seeking the limelight or wanting to be praised for the kindness she showed to others. Judy loved her Lord Jesus with all her heart and prayed for others. In sharing her passing with folks on the internet, many have come forward who had never met her and wanted her family to know how much she had meant to them in their times of difficulty.
