Julie L. Schroeder Ducker
September 6, 2005
With loved ones by her side, Julie Lynette Schroeder Ducker died Aug. 30 at her home in Meyers. She was 37.
Affectionately known as “Jewely,” she was born Jan. 19, 1968 in West Covina, Calif. She lived at South Lake Tahoe nearly 10 years, working mostly at Scotty’s Hardware at the “Y.” She advanced to the position of bookkeeper, which pleased her greatly. She really enjoyed her job and her extended family at Scotty’s. She also worked in child care for a time.
Julie had many hobbies and many loves, one of her fondest being Big Sur, where she camped, knitted, collected jade stones from which she made her own jewelry. She was a voracious reader and had an insatiable fascination with astronomy. Her favorite musical groups were the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones.
She absolutely adored her children and was a great mom to them. Julie married her longtime love and father of her children Graeme Ducker on July 29, shortly before the family went to Disneyland where the kids had the time of their lives and Julie had her wish come true.
Julie is survived by her husband Graeme Ducker of Meyers, her two beautiful daughters Elise and Kiri Ducker of Meyers, a stepson John Schroeder of the Bay Area, her adoptive mother Gayle Reinhardt of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., adoptive father Ronald Harstad, half-brother Bobby Harstad, stepfather Steve “Pops” Dixon of Rancho Cucamonga, biological mother Linda Rivers of South Lake Tahoe, biological father Dale York, sisters Shannon Camarena, Laura Kay and brothers Dale Russel and Calvin York. She is also survived by her grandparents Wendell and Dorothy Harstad of Waverly, Iowa, grandparents Robert and Shirley Anderson of Arkansas, step-grandfather Bob Maymon of Florida and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Julie is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Elsie Pearl Maymon of Mira Loma, Calif.
