Kahle’s summer camp for kids is really awesome

Douglas County Parks & Recreation is presently taking registration for Summer R.A.D. (Really Awesome Days) Camp. Camp begins June 18 and is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thorough Friday at Kahle Community Center. The cost is $20 per day, plus spending money, with a daily registration fee. The program is open to children in first- through fifth-grade.
Daily activities include:
Monday – Beach Days to Sand Harbor to catch crawdads and enjoy some beach fun.
Tuesday – Hike and enjoy the outdoors at such places as Angora Lakes, Davis Creek, Animal Ark Wildlife Sanctuary and Tahoe Environmental Sciences Tour Day.
Wednesday – Field Trip Day. Wild Island Water Park, Circus Circus and Roller King skating, just to name a few.
Thursday – Special Event Theme Days. Ten Ways to Chill Out Mud Camp, Mad Scientists and Ghosts, Ghouls & Things that Scream.

Friday – Arts & Crafts followed by lunch and an afternoon at Carson Valley Swim Center.
