Karen May Kaahui

Karen May Kaahui passed away from ALS Lou Gehrig’s disease Feb. 4, 2006, at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She was born Dec. 5, 1954, in Wisconsin.

Karen graduated from nursing school at the University of Eau Claire in Wisconsin in 1984, and moved to South Lake Tahoe in October of that year. She was a dedicated, loving registered nurse and worked in the intensive care unit at Barton Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years.

She loved to travel, snorkel, hike the trails of South Lake Tahoe and spend time with her loved ones. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Jennie. Karen was well loved and respected and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennie Kaahui; and sisters and brothers, Sylvia Mohr, Judy Pease, Dan Kaczmarczyk and Brian Kaczmarczyk and their families.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church, 2733 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
