A celebration of life service will take place July 3 for Katherine “Kathy” Tubbs-Hoo, who passed away June 22, 2007.

Kathy was born June 1, 1955, in Stockton, Calif., to Kenneth Tubbs and Willie Lou Rea. A 22-year resident of South Lake Tahoe, she was an in-home healthcare provider for five years. She loved shopping, doing bead work, making ribbie blankets and most of all taking care of people. She was a great collection of Mickey Mouse and butterflies. All who knew her could not deny her compassion and love. Kathy’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren and extended her loving and caring nature to Joy, Jane and Tony. Kathy will be missed by her family and friends everyday of their lives.

She is survived by her children, Jon and Joel Tubbs and Tahana Hoo-Owens; sisters, Kristine Tubbs, Elsie Garza, Karen Fields, Kelly Figueroa, Kim Whitespeare, Debbie Qualey and Gina Hauck; stepmother, Cora Tubbs; grandchildren, Eddie, Dion and Masiah Owens and Courtney Tubbs; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Willie Lou Rea; father, Kenneth Tubbs; twin brother, Kenneth Allen Tubbs; and brother, Clark Cotterell.



A service celebrating Kathy’s life will begin at 10 a.m. July 3 at Lakeside Church 745 Oak Avenue Parkway, Folsom, CA 95630. A reception will immediately follow the service, followed by a final good-bye at 1:30 p.m. at Camellia Memorial Lawn, 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento, CA 95827.
