Kids raise funds with hot chocolate

Nine local children set up a hot chocolate stand Oct. 29 to raise funds to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. The stand was in front of Albertsons, and the children collected $137.75 between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They plan to send all profits to aid the hurricane victims via World Relief Organization.

Albertsons donated the hot chocolate mix, and a fee of $1 per cup was charged. Donations were accepted, also.

The young people who participated in the event are Luke, 9, Savannah, 7, and Summit Moulton, 6; Stanley, 7, and George, 5, Rohrbacker; Jordanne 16, and Georgia Cabrera, 6; Jane Anthony, 5; and Tatum Gleason, 7.
