Dozens of competitors will take to the walls of Kirkwood Mountain Resort’s gullies this weekend in search of the fastest time down a banked slalom course.

The Legendary Banked Slalom returns to Kirkwood this Saturday, April 2. The event features a slalom course set up in Kirkwood’s Snow Snake Gully, a winding depression containing a variety of natural terrain features.

The event is open to skiers, riders and snowskaters ages 8 and up.

Lift access and race entry costs $50, while just race entry costs $25. Discount family tickets are also available at registration.

Registration will take place in the Red Cliffs Club from 7:30-9 a.m., with a riders safety and team meeting at 9:15 a.m. at Red Cliffs. The first run is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. Awards will be given out at the Red Cliffs Club one hour after the last racer finishes.

Spectators are welcome, but must possess valid lift access.

Changes in weather and/or snow conditions may cause the schedule to shift, according to event organizers.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort is located at 1501 Kirkwood Meadows Drive, off State Route 88 south of Lake Tahoe.
