Kiwanis Sunrisers seeking donations

Provided to the Tribune

Kiwanis Sunrisers is sponsoring some new programs to enhance the quality of life for residents at Tahoe Manor Guest Home. We invite local community organizations and individuals to take part in these programs for Tahoe Manor residents.

The first is a music cassette library; the very basics are in place but the program could use additional cassette players, new or used, and acceptable for recycle (preferably with headsets or headset plug), and will welcome any new or used cassettes in usable condition in any musical category such as classical, spiritual, country, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, or books on tape.

The second program is for games and activities. Again, the basic games in limited quantity are available such as checkers, bingo and dominoes, but any new or serviceable recycles will be welcomed; art supplies, crayons, colored pencils, books and the like would also find good use. Let us not forget so show kindness to all who share this beautiful mountain community.

The Kiwanis Sunrisers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) and will supply tax receipts for those who provide an address and list for the items donated. For information contact Joan McCarty at (530) 573-1949.

Kiwanis Sunrisers also is seeking support for its annual crab feed in January that serves local children’s charities. Local merchants or community groups may provide assistance by donating auction prizes, raffle items or purchasing tickets for this fun-filled event with live music. Send commitment letters to Kiwanis Sunrisers, P.O. Box 555, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151.

Interested in joining our club? Kiwanis Sunrisers meet Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. at the Embassy Suites by Harrah’s. Questions can be answered by calling Steve Reed at (774) 589-6850.
