Krug, Shalvis lead Truckee past STHS girls

Truckee’s girls overwhelmed South Tahoe in the first half with a swarming full-court press en route to a 44-19 Mount Rose League win on Friday.

Led by the quick hands of senior guard Megan Shalvis, the Wolverines stormed out to an 11-2 lead after one quarter of play and led 22-6 at the half.

Truckee junior post Aleigh Krug scored a game-high 15 points, while Shalvis scored 11 for the Wolverines, who improved to 1-0 in league and 7-6 overall.

Brooke King scored a team-high six points for South Tahoe, which dropped to 1-1 in league and 1-11 overall.
