Kudos and kindness
To the editor:
The Mitchell family would like to express its deepest gratitude for the overwhelming kindness and support we have received during this time of grief. Words seem not enough to express our emotions for the way everyone has reached out to us. We are so thankful for all the support from so many people: Heavenly Ski Resort, Casey Blann and all the guys who worked the day of the memorial at the gondola. It was beautiful. The wind made it like the day Tommy and I were married. I felt he was there.
To Safeway for all the meals, film processing and just pure friendship. To Tahoe Parents Nursery School and Bank of America, the meals and kindness from all of you was wonderful. To Al Tahoe Elementary staff members, students and parents, thank you. Casie and Jesse really needed your support. It was great to show them that you care and everyone was out of this world. Even with the sadness of the school closing so many of you were there for them. To Andy, Get Your Locks Off, thank you for the kids’ haircuts. To Lake Valley Properties, Unity at the Lake, Norm’s Auto, thank you. To all of you who sent cards, plants, prayers, food, phone calls and gave donations to our family, so many to list, but never forgotten. Thank you. This community is truly down-home style. To all our family and close friends, above and beyond you have gone. Everything that you have done is incredible. From watching the children, running errands, cleaning, making meals, answering phones, helping with the service, paperwork, parking passes and just sitting with me, too many more to list. No names need mentioning, you know who you are, love forever goes out to you.
To the four girls and the one boy who were out at the sand pits that day, you have my gratitude for taking care of my children and seeing no harm came to them. My children and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To the man with the hat, I never found out your name, thank you for helping Tommy. To CHP officer Wayne Tillman, your compassion will never be forgotten. To Tom Chambers and Lettie, the world needs more true good Samaritans like you. Words cannot express how I feel. During this tragic time I am comforted that you two were there with my Tommy.
And to Tommy, my bearded man, having you in my life these last 18 years has been unbelievable. Teaching me how to live true and honest with one’s self. For loving me unconditionally and letting me get the last word in, most of the time. Being married to you these last 13 years, I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. You hold my heart always and forever, Brown Eyes.
Our family is truly grateful for everyone’s generosity and thoughtfulness. We feel blessed by how everyone has shown their support. Thank you.
