KUDOS AND KINDNESS
To the editor:
First, I want to thank William Ferchland and Dan Thrift for participating in the recent snowmobile ride provided for the members of Choices Transitional Services. Since I was unable to at tend I found the article and pictures in the Sierra Scene really relayed the experience and fund that the Choices members enjoyed that day. It also conveyed to me that Ari Makinen, owner of Lake Tahoe Adventures, has a very big heart.
But mostly, I wanted to thank the members of the Lake Tahoe Snowmobile Association for showing up in support of this event. Our club has worked on putting it all together for the past two years. The article didn’t give club members much credit, so I wanted to make sure our members know they are appreciated, too.
The hard work of Judy Breylinger should not go unrecognized. It was through her efforts that everything fell into place. Judy did the initial legwork. She found the Choices group, made sure insurance coverage was in place and scheduled the ride with Lake Tahoe Adventures. Norman and Mary Anne Samuel donated the donuts, while Bob and Elda Brown helped with other needed supplies. Over 15 club members showed up in support the day of the ride.
While we were hoping to get a few more riders from Choices, it sounds like it was very successful and I’m sure we are all looking forward to doing it again in the near future. Hopefully, next time the weather will cooperate with fresh snow and warmer temperature.
