Kudos and kindness

To the editor:

There was a thank-you get-together for all blood donors who had donated 50 units of blood.

There was a mix-up in the list of donors who were to be invited. I goofed and did not take care of this myself and make a final check of the list. This is the reason many people were not included.

You should have been. This will not happen again – I promise. My apologies and we will see you next year. Thank you for being donors. You are very special people.

Three cheers for camp donations

To the editor:

The South Tahoe High School cheerleaders would like to thank the community for their donations and support to send us to camp. The camp funding was a huge success. All our 25 cheerleaders participated in the NCA camp at the University of California, Davis.

Thanks to our wonderful community we raised more than $8,000 and we want to say thank you. We had a great time and we learned a lot.

Wood chips are put to good use

To the editor:

The Nevada Tahoe Conservation District would like to thank Ed Cook’s Tree Service for their generous donation of wood chips for BMP demonstration projects in Nevada Lake Tahoe.

Wood chips were applied over bare soil areas at various demonstration sites to exhibit a common BMP used to prevent soil erosion.

Wood chips generated by local tree services are a hot commodity in the world of BMPs and the district would like to thank Ed Cook’s Tree Service for all of their support.
