Kudos and Kindness: Officer saves dog from coyotes

On Jan. 31, about 150 yards from our house, a pack of coyotes attacked our 10-year-old, 85-pound black Labrador retriever. This attack was witnessed by South Lake Tahoe Police Officer Travis Cabral. Travis scared off the coyotes and brought our uninjured dog back to our house. If not for Travis’ quick actions, our dog would have been the coyotes’ breakfast.

Travis went well beyond the call of duty and saved our dog’s life. Our heartfelt thanks to Officer Cabral and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
