Kudos and Kindness: Thank you for a successful community cleanup

On Saturday, June 5, the Clean Tahoe Program held its annual Community Cleanup Day at the South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Station. It was another outstanding success, with roughly 550 loads coming through the gates.

The Clean Tahoe Program wants to thank all of those whose efforts helped make the day such an unqualified success. They are: The owners and the entire hardworking staff at South Tahoe Refuse, the California Conservation Corps, and the Kiwanis Club of South Lake Tahoe, whose delicious barbecue gave us all the energy to keep the line moving. To the folks at NV Energy who gave each vehicle florescent light bulbs and the South Tahoe Board of Realtors for providing doughnuts, bagels and coffee in the morning. Finally, to the residents who again supported the beautification of their community through this event.
