Kudos and Kindness: Thanks for taking care of and loving our dog

Provided to the TribuneBrenda Rogers submitted this photo of her 25-year-old dog, Furhman, who died Thursday. Rogers said locals and tourists visiting her Round Hill business would stop to pet Furhman and give him dog treats.

On Jan. 28, 2010, the community lost a very old soul and beloved dog: Furhman.

Furhman was a 25-year-old dog loved by tourists and locals here in Tahoe. Every day he was at his owner’s ski shop in Round Hill greeting customers with a waging tail, looking for cookies many brought to him. Many returning tourists stopped by just to see him again.

Over the past few years, many pictures have been taken of this old soul, in hopes of seeing him again next year. But this year was his last.

He was family, a unconditional friend, always happy, always looking forward to another day of endless petting from locals and tourists.

He loved to eat the snow, always looking for a fresh patch he can put his nose in and get a good bite. He loved his family and lived his life to the fullest. Thank you to all the locals and tourists for coming by the shop and visiting him, bringing him treats and warm hands for petting. It always made his day brighter.

He will be deeply missed by his family, always.

I want to thank Dr. Kelly and the staff at Alpine-Round Hill Animal Clinic for being so kind and keeping him happy and well. We appreciate you all and we are forever grateful.
