Kudos: Community help brings Brew Festival success

Carol Spain

Letter to the editor:

The Valhalla Winter Micro Import and Brew Festival featured at Harrah’s Feb. 10 was fun, outrageous and a very successful fund-raising event. Tahoe can now expect snow for the Winter brew. It happens without fail that the Brewfest brings a blizzard and we have decided that Winter brew is a ritualized snow dance. Over 35 brewers arrived safely through the storm and the fun loving crowd enjoyed tasting over a hundred different brews and danced to the terrific music of the Outpsyders.

The Tahoe Tallac Association is very grateful to Harrah’s Tahoe for helping to host the event. Harrah’s generosity extended to the preplanning, the set up and the convention center. Harrah’s staff was wonderful to work with, courteous, helpful and cheering the association on to success.

We would also like to thank all the extraordinary brewers that braved the storm to bring their brews. The brewers find Tahoe an exceptional area to introduce their beverages and their presence at the festival added sparkle and energy to the event.

Tahoe Colony Inn, Horizon Casino Resort and Harrah’s Tahoe all helped to house the brewers at special rates. Heavenly Ski Resort, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Kirkwood were most generous in contributing to the raffle by donating lift tickets. Fantasy Inn and The Shoppe also made donations to a successful raffle.

International Good Samaritans helped some of guests with safe rides home.

The media assisted us in letting the public know about the event, KOWL, RSN, K-Mountain and the Tahoe Daily Tribune have been wonderfully supportive. Thank you.

The Tahoe Tallac Association volunteers are the greatest. You helped make it happen.
