Kudos & Kindness

To the editor:

Six days ago a kitty was trapped in a 100-foot pine tree and unable to get down. This kitty was extremely frightened and very hungry. The kitty was chased farther and farther up this tree by wildlife, all the way to the top.

The second day of this poor kitten’s ordeal in the tree, I started contacting all the rescue organizations I could find. I was turned away by all of them. They would not or could not help this kitty. I was, and still am, very disappointed in these so-called rescue services.

On the fifth day the large ravens and crows were picking on this kitty. I contacted the police department and was referred to call a tree service. Fortunately, I contacted the right one – Joe Benigno’s Tree Service. Joe Benigno came out and rescued this kitty. He risked his own life and climbed to the top of the tree out of the goodness of his heart. This is one of Tahoe’s heroes. When no one else would or could save this kitty, Joe Benigno took time out of his busy day and job to save this little animal. The kitty is now safe and warm.

I want to say thank you to you, Mr. Benigno. You are an inspiration and a blessing to all you help. I wish there were more people like you.
