Kudos & Kindness

To the editor:

Two years ago my son Daniel had an accident. He had multiple facial fractures and lost part of his hearing.

I don’t know what I would have done without the assistance of some of the local agencies and programs.

California Children Services Program, Bijou School, Family Resource Center and Child Development Center, thank you all for your moral and financial support when I needed it most.

Thanks to the teachers and counselor for your patience and all manifestations of love to my child.

I hope that programs like CCS continue in existence for families in situations similar to our.

Many supported car wash event

To the editor:

Sierra Recovery Center held a car wash July 24 at Lilly’s Tire Center. It was a great success and we would like to thank those who helped make it such a successful event.

Thanks to Sam from Kragen Auto Parts for donating buckets, sponges, towels and soap for the car wash. Thanks to Mark Lilly for allowing us to use his shop at which to have the car wash. A special thanks goes out to the community members who came to support the event. Thank you all for your support and generosity.

Fund-raiser party was a success

To the editor:

On July 29 the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1632 held a fund-raiser for cancer victim Tom Ellis.

We, the officers and members of the lodge, would like to thank our local businesses, friends and fellow members for their hard work and donations.

Because of your generosity we were able to present Tom with more than $3,100 to help with his medical expenses.

Thank you to everyone who donated their time and money.
