Kudos & Kindness

To the editor:

The co-chairs for the July 23 Lake Tahoe Historical Society Garden Tour wish to express our deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work by the committee: Lynne Bajuk, Julie Kiner, Trudy Craven, Betty Mitchell, Karen Carreau, John Fellows and Bob Harms.

Computer artistic and public relations skills were handled by Phylise Walker, Tami Wallace, Kelly Gennert, Diane Johnson and Emmalou Bailey (artist.)

For opening their gardens for this very successful event, we thank Steve and Peggy (Bourland) Matheson, William Ledbetter (and his caretaker Richard,) Dan Jensen and Karen Hauser, David Hughes, Gerry and Carol Parker and Paul Nanzig.

Thanks to William Ledbetter and Harvey’s Resort & Casino for the very generous donation of snacks, punch and support staff.

Thanks also to the wonderful volunteers of the South Lake Tahoe Widowers group and the South Lake Tahoe Garden Club, who sat as hosts at each garden, as well as Aspen Hollow Nursery, Grass Lake Nursery, Nel’s Garden Center and Sunbasin Nursery, who handled the tickets.

Without the help of these generous and supportive people the garden tour, “Tahoe in Bloom-II” would not have been the class act that it was. Thank you.

Fine arts festival was a success

To the editor:

On behalf of the board of directors of Tahoe Arts Project, we would like to thank the community for supporting our fourth annual Lake Tahoe Festival of Fine Arts.

Your participation helped make this year’s event a huge success.

Tahoe Arts Project is a nonprofit organization that brings professional performing arts into our local schools and community.

This fall we will kick off our 19th season of programming to more than 6,000 students in kindergarten through 12th-grade. By participating in our festival you have done your part to enrich these children’s lives. We look forward to your support next year. Thank you so much.
