Kudos & Kindness

Sponsored by the Optimist Club and Tahoe Bowl, the Team Tahoe Special Olympics annual bowling event was a huge success. A special thanks goes to the Optimist Club, Tahoe Bowl and crew, the Special Olympics athletes, their family and friends, and members of the local community for their participation in this event.

The celebration and awards ceremony dinner at Chevy’s was, as usual, outstanding. Thanks to our community for making this a memorable occasion for all.

Dance team says thanks

The South Tahoe High School Dance team would like to thank the many members of the community who helped make possible the team’s activities this year.

Thanks to the families who donated time and money to the dancers, so they were able to compete at the Silver State Spirit Dance Championships. The girls were able to purchase new uniforms, bags, sweatshirts, and hair- and make-up accessories.

The “Dance Team for a Day” fundraiser was an amazing experience for all involved. Thank you so much to all who helped out. We would especially like to thank Marcia Sarosik for donating the space to the girls all year to practice and for the overwhelming support and ideas. Thank you to Nathan Castalanos and Rachel Romero for working the girls out in the summer, the judges who picked the team this year – Kellie Warnick, Alicia Son, Nicole Buel and Laurel Brock, Kellee Koepen, and Stacey Hembree for some last-minute handy work.

Thank you to Kimberly Rumack for helping as assistant coach at competition, Vicky Grant for holding the Christmas party for all the girls at her home, and Jeannie Payne for all her help. Thank you also to the Booster Club and the Optimist Club for their amazing contributions, Nickie Fahde for her generosity and warmth in inviting 21 girls into her beautiful home and for everything she has done for the team, and Don Borges.

This year’s dance team parents were wonderful and we thank all parents of all of the 21 girls. It is so nice to have a loving community with all of your support.

There was such an overwhelming response from all of the community, we thank all of you who may not have been mentioned. Thank you for all of the team members who worked hard all year long. You really are athletes and I am very proud of every one of you. The girls worked very hard and danced amazingly at competition. Thank you for helping us have a positive and amazing year in dance.
