KUDOS & KINDNESS: 2011 Fire Fest a great success

Congratulations, everyone, on an exceptional Fire Fest event this past Saturday. The weather was perfect, the crowd was steady and the food delicious.

We are estimating about 1,000 guests, vendors and volunteers.

Speaking of volunteers, weren’t the Fire Academy students great? That’s a lot of lifting power and enthusiasm. And the CCCs helped the Kiwanis feed all those hungry volunteers.

Thanks to all our sponsors and to the local businesses that donated items to make our event fun and free to our local kids and families.

We hope that you had an enjoyable and rewarding day as well. Enjoy this beautiful fall weather; you’ve earned it! Have a warm and safe winter.
