Kudos & Kindness

The Latino Affairs Community Education Subcommittee is very grateful to our community for its support of our first Parent School Partnership class, which has been two years in the planning. In spite of several snow cancellations, we have completed our six sessions and look forward to our final trip to the library.

We are especially grateful to the women of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra, who provided delicious meals for three session; to Felix Gonzales of Mazatlan Grill, who donated one fabulous meal; and to Juan Lopez Barrientos of La Taberna Del Lobo, who provided three wonderful meals at cost.

We are also grateful to our partners, Tahoe Unified School District for the use of Bijou Community School and for presenting valuable information to our parents; and to Lake Tahoe Community College for filling our printing needs and providing speakers.

Finally, we are grateful to our Latino parents who participated in the program and learned about how to be involved in their children’s education. Without their dedication to their children and commitment to the program, it would not have been the success it was. We look forward to their continued involvement and leadership in our community.
