Kudos & kindness
One of the worst experiences a dog owner can have is to lose their dog. On Oct. 7 on a dirt road in Hope Valley, that’s what happened to me. A friend and I were walking with my three dogs when suddenly two of them were out of sight. One of them returned within about 20 minutes, but not the other one.
I drove up and down the road asking the few people I passed if they had seen him. Everyone I talked to said they would be on the lookout. After three hours my prayers were answered. The couple in a red car apparently had talked to two guys in a truck. Not long after that the guys found my dog and were on their way to South Shore to deliver him to me when I passed them on the road.
Thank you to all involved including my friend, Ann, and Russ and Cindy Thaw. My extra special thanks to the two guys in the truck, Brian Sloan and his friend (whose name I didn’t get.) They were on their way for a weekend of camping, then scrapped their plans to bring my dog home to me.
