Kudos & Kindness
Family expresses gratitude
The “thank yous” during the Angora fire will roll in by the hundreds, and rightfully so. This community is solid, from Meyers to Zephyr Cove. When those of us out in Mountain View Estates and Tahoe Paradise were in need, the community came forward in a big way. The list of those to thank would fill volumes, but for my family, the following deserve special notice:
Local and out-of-town firefighters, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department, South Lake Tahoe police department, CHP and support personnel, all of the volunteers at St. Theresa, South Lake Tahoe recreation department, Noah’s Wish, Red Cross, Sierra Recovery Center, Tahoe Douglas Rotary, CVC, Lira’s Market, Vickie McKenna, Sue Scharer, Lew Long, Meyers’ Downtown Cafe, Norma Santiago and the coverage by the Tribune.
Special recognition should be given to Gary Thelander, Mary Lanham, Jerome and Kathleen Zalinski from the Inn at Heavenly for being one of the first motel/B&Bs to step forward and open their doors to my whole family and 68 of our neighbors.
To our friends and those in our neighborhood who are dealing with losses, our heartfelt concerns are with you.
