Kudos & Kindness
Sacramento Blood Source arrived at the Lake Tahoe Airport on Feb. 25, where stations were set up for donations from local volunteers.
Members of Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, who sponsored this event chaired by Dan Kerr, thank community donors who gave life-saving blood. This blood is used for transfusions during surgeries and medical emergencies at South Lake Tahoe.
Special thanks also to the 30 California Conservation Corps crew persons and their staff, who donated their precious blood toward future emergencies. They have proven that giving blood to help their neighbors is not a difficult task and is welcome by all who staff this bimonthly project. The next blood bank will be in April.

Thanks to Tahoe Tallac Association volunteers who give their time, talent and energy to support the Valhalla Arts and Music Festival. Without their support, the annual festival wouldn’t be possible.
It was great to “meet, greet and eat” with those volunteers who attended the “Get Acquainted and Welcome to 2008 Valhalla Season” dinner March 12. You are tremendous.

The Lake Tahoe Historical Society greatly appreciates the South Shore Chamber of Commerce and LTVA’s generous donation of Jim Hildinger’s stunning black-and-white large-format photos.
They make a great addition to our display, along with his book, “Tahoe in Black & White.” Thank you, B Gorman and Patrick Kaler.
