Kudos & Kindness
The Smith family thanks you, our community, for the strong and loving support you gave us after the loss of our beloved Sgt. Timothy M. Smith. We are truly blessed to be supported by your love, gifts and prayers. You comforted us by staying near us and sharing in Timmy’s procession and memorial service. You have helped us bear the heavy burden we face.
Thank you for sending food, flowers and donations. We are truly proud and honored to be members of a community that has supported us so wholeheartedly. Timmy loved Tahoe and was blessed by having so many best friends here, and we’ll always have those memories.
Thank you to all Timmy’s and our family’s wonderful friends. We would never have gotten through this without you. Also, if anyone would like a DVD of the service and procession for $5, you can contact Cooley Jaxson at Xtreme Computers, (530) 307-0766.
Timmy was proud to serve our country, and we know that he would be proud of his community for supporting his family. With loving thanks.

Sierra Recovery Center thanks Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra President Susan Zeiter and club members for the generous donation to our facility. These funds will go toward programs for women and children.
It is because of this generosity that Sierra Recovery Center can continue to do the work it does, and we thank them immensely for their continued generosity and support.

We were privileged to know Jerry Hurwitz’s unique personality when delivering public-service announcements for OPEN events on his radio show over the past years. We took part in the memorial given for him May 24 and heard many wonderful stories focused on Jerry’s sense of humor and his enjoyment of life.
The members of Ordinary People Meeting Extraordinary Needs (OPEN) want others to know another side of “The Voice of Tahoe.” When Jerry retired, he made arrangements to donate $20 each month to our little nonprofit club. His caring, compassion and generosity is that other side OPEN is celebrating.
When doing OPEN’s requests, Jerry was “engaged” – he was engaged in everything he did. He liked what we were doing to help others, and he let us know.

Thank you, Harveys Resort Casino, for hosting this year’s George Whittell High School Senior Awards Night. The staff was diligent and accommodating, and the chef provided a wonderful array of desserts. Your continued support of our community and schools is gratefully appreciated.
Thanks to all scholarship donors for their support to our senior students. Without your continued support, many of our students wouldn’t be able to attend that one, special college or university. To be added to our list of scholarship donors, contact Bernadette Esquivel at (775) 588-2446. Donations are tax-deductible.
Thanks to Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course for hosting our junior/senior prom. The meal was fantastic, and the wait staff was superb. Thank you, Debbie Wagnon and Bobby King, for all your support through the years.
