Kudos & kindness

To the editor:

On June 24 I had a severe allergic reaction to penicillin. My throat began to close and it was getting very difficult to breathe. I called 911. Fortunately, the emergency crews arrived shortly. Because of the seriousness of the situation, a decision was made to take me by ambulance to the hospital.

Many people contributed to literally saving my life. I would like to thank Doug Mundy of Tahoe Valley Pharmacy, the firefighters and paramedics from the Golden Bear Fire Department and the wonderful doctors and nurses at Barton Hospital. Everyone treated me very professionally, with kindness, and that was very comforting. We are so fortunate to have these incredible men and women in our community. They deserve our full respect and support.

Bible school was a success

To the editor:

Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church and Hope Lutheran Church have just finished five evenings of vacation Bible school at LTCPC. We’d like to thank the incredible volunteers who put this all together for the kids.

Thank you to Pastor Steve and Janelle Blocher, Jill Southerland, Chris Carmichael, Carolyn McKissock, Sierra and Lindsay Harbison, Vickie, Mary Beth, Sandy Ginny, Anne Johnson, Bonnie Dreeke, Randi, Stacy, Diane Martin, plus too many more to name.

We would also like to thank everyone involved at Sierra Community Church for donating their props and decorations. That saved us hours of work. Special kudos to Lori Mason from Sierra Community for lending us her Sing and Play Bay Leader’s manual, and to her husband, Dave, for bringing it to us. We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s effort and support. God bless you all.
