Kudos & Kindness
To the editor:
As you know, we have two seasons here in Tahoe – winter and construction. Well, I would like to thank the construction companies who are working hard to make our lake cleaner and roads better in the South Shore area.
There is one construction company that I have had to deal with on two fronts, one on Highway 50 in the Round Hill area working on drainage and curbs, and also in my neighborhood doing more of the same.
You see, I coordinate the school bus transportation for Whittell, Kingsbury and Zephyr Cove schools. My school bus drivers travel through the construction zone three and even four times per day. The construction company V&C placed flaggers at all points necessary for our buses to keep on schedule, V&C placed cones in position so the larger buses could enter and exit Highway 50 without a problem. Then as we get off work (mid-day) while students are in school I go home and deal with construction in my neighborhood. Entering the hood, with LARGE equipment in the middle of the road, V&C employees would stop what they are doing and move the equipment so I could go home. What a nice company and what a nice crew. Please tell V&C that they are always welcome to do construction in our hood and highways.
