Guests were treated to name vintages, cordials and beer for the evening courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits and appetizers buffet courtesy of Edgewood Tahoe. Six raffle packages, valued over $1,000, included travel and lodging, restaurants, activities, entertainment and more.
A big thank you to our donors: Café Fiore, Ernie’s Coffee Shop, Naked Fish, Primo’s Italian Bistro, Sorensen’s Resort, Ridge Tahoe, Getaway Café, Hope Valley Café and Market, Kalani’s, Lakeside Inn and Casino, Tahoe City Marina, Safari Rose & Caravel Woodwind Charters, Casto Chiropractic, Thran’s Flowers, Lake Tahoe Golf Course, South Tahoe Refuse, Scotty’s Hardware, Aspen Hollow, Tahoe Bleu Wave, Welcome Home, Tahoe Bike Company, and Tahoe Nail Spa.
During the evening’s festivities, Josh Kornbeck delivered his Youth of the Year speech that he presented at the YOY conference in Oakland, Calif. Josh has overcome many challenges in his life and has become an outstanding role model for his family and fellow members of the Boys and Girls Club. Everyone who has ever worked with Josh would agree that he shows great integrity, motivation and sensibility towards his goals and responsibilities.
Josh has remained an active member at Boys and Girls Club, from helping coach Junior Giants with the younger members to participating in fundraisers to helping raise money for activities for the club. It was a pleasure to listen to his story, and we look forward to further helping him continue to reach his goals.

Vail Echo Grant sponsors B&B dinner
With the funding provided from the Vail Echo Grant program, Lake Tahoe Lodging Company, Vail Resort’s Management Company at Heavenly Lake Tahoe was the Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsor for Bread & Broth’s dinner on Monday, May 19. The dinner held at St. Theresa Church’s Grace Hall, served 90 guests with the help of Barbara Knapp, sr. accounting asst.; Phylise Walker, asst. reservations mgr, and brokers, Greta and Mike Hambsch. These volunteers from Lake Tahoe Lodging Company arrived ready to cheerfully and graciously assist with the dinner event.
Taking a break from serving, Phylise said, “This is such a great community service. It is wonderful to work with this dedicated group of people and it’s an honor to share a meal with our neighbors in need.” For over 24 years, the working poor, families in need, elderly on fixed income as well those living outdoors in the our South Shore community have been enjoying the nutritious meals and loving care provided at each of B&B’s Monday dinners. B&B would like to thank Vail Echo Grant Program and the helpful Lake Tahoe Lodging Company volunteers for their sponsorship and support of B&B’s goal of providing meals to those in need.
In addition to volunteering their time, our generous sponsor volunteers also brought fresh fruit and containers for distribution at the dinner.
