Kudos & Kindness: A sincere thank you to Barton Memorial

My wife, after a routine mammogram at Barton Hospital, was told she needed another procedure. We were referred to Barton’s sister facility where the equipment was (to avoid duplication of costs). We went through the usual insurance billing routine, and had the procedure done.

Our insurance refused to cover a large portion of the bill because the facility was “out of network.” We wrote a letter to Barton pleading the case that their insurance billing office never told us they were not in our network. I knew that we were ultimately responsible for checking our coverage before having any procedure done. A few weeks later, Barton wiped our slate clean.

Our experiences have shown us that Barton truly cares about their patients. Now we know that concern permeates their entire organization.
