Kudos & Kindness: Generosity of toy donations gifted more children than ever

As I was packing the last of the left over toys this week I realized I never formally said my thanks for all the help this year with Christmas Cheer. So as the old saying goes “Better late than never.”

We had close to 1,000 kids this year, and more than ever, I stressed over not having enough. It’s tough on everyone right now, but thanks to our amazing community once again every child had plenty to open under the Christmas tree.

Thank you, every one of you, for your generous donations. Special thanks to Mary Luckel and the Tahoe Toy run, Donna Baxter (my assistant elf) for always being there when I need you, to all the fire departments for your transportation and muscle, to the Recreation Center for allowing us to use the gym, to all the volunteers at Christmas Cheer who worked until their bones ached, to K &K for moving everything back to the pantry when everyone else had gone home, and most of all to all my elves that volunteered without being asked. You know who you are, and know that what you did for the kids this year was a true act of kindness, and I am grateful.
