Kudos & Kindness: Local hardware stores are top-notch

Our community is blessed to have some great, helpful hardware stores. Although the stores are small, they make up size with great customer service. I’m talking about Scotty’s on Kingsbury, Scotty’s at the Y, and Nel’s. In the 40-plus years I have lived here, they have helped me with all kinds of home repairs, home projects and snowblower repair. A quick story: I was at my daughter’s house doing some home repairs when I got stumped. I called the boys at Scotty’s on Kingsbury and they walked me through it, no problem. And oh, by the way, my daughter lives in Tucson, Ariz. Please give these stores a shot at your business first – and don’t even think about taking that paint you bought at Home Depot to them to shake, that’s just wrong.
