Kudos & Kindness: Thank you for giving Tahoe Valley Elementary a facelift
Tahoe Valley Elementary welcomed its students with a refreshing facelift. A handful of teachers, parents, students and one dedicated carpenter volunteered their time to create a more appealing environment for learning. Staff commented that it’s now a warmer, more inviting place to begin our year.
Last year, the third grade team came up with the idea to brighten the interior of the school. Finally in August, the project began as local businesses were approached for donations to help achieve the goal. It never fails to amaze us what an incredibly supportive town this is that we get to call home.
Without a blink of an eye, Matt, at Dick’s Fuller O’Brien, donated all the paint and the new DIY store donated a surplus of supplies to do the painting. Meek’s Lumber provided the baseboard at a considerable discount, and Doug Abbott, a local talented carpenter, donated his time by hanging the replaced baseboard in all of the hallways and MPR. Paul Friederici, from Alpine Carpet One, donated a brand new “Welcome to Tahoe Valley” mat for the entrance to our school. From all of us at Tahoe Valley, we thank you for showing that you care!
