Lake Tahoe-area construction projects shut down for winter
November 3, 2009
LAKE TAHOE – Roadwork throughout the region – which caused extended travel delays along Tahoe’s main pathways for much of the summer season – has been shut down for winter.
Rochelle Jenkins, spokeswoman for Caltrans, said construction on Highways 28, 89, and 267 went into winter suspension this week, although some minor and non-traffic interfering work is expected to continue.
On Interstate 80, some work wrapped up for the season around Oct. 15, and some work to the west in the foothills continues, she said.
Work on 28, 89 and Interstate 80 will resume in the spring, she said.
