Public land is meeting focus

The Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee today will begin to chart a course for the next round of Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act expenditures.

The committee, which operates under the umbrella of the U.S. Forest Service, first got involved in the lands act process in 2004 – about the same time of the formation of its current chartered members in June 2004, Forest Service officials said.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today at the North Tahoe Conference Center in Kings Beach.
