Wayne Federman

Closing out 2018 is comedian Wayne Federman, who, get this, is also a USC faculty member teaching level-two stand-up at the USC School of Dramatic Arts.

Federman’s been doing stand up over 35 years now and recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Federman has appeared on numerous television programs and films including: “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Crashing,” “Transparent,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Community,” “Documentary Now!,” “Shameless,” “New Girl,” “Step Brothers,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Knocked Up,” “Legally Blonde,” “Funny People” and “The House.”

He also appeared on the second season of CNN’s The History of Comedy. Personally, though, his best credit was co-producing the HBO Documentary The “Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling” as well as Don Rickles’ final project, “Dinner with Don.”

Federman has also appeared in numerous comedy documentaries including: “Misery Loves Comedy,” “I Am Comic,” “I Am Road Comic,” “The Land of Milk and Funny” and “Eat, Drink, Laugh: The Story of The Comic Strip.”

He’s also a three-time WGA-nominated as well as Emmy-nominated writer.

He has supplied comedy material for Andy Samberg, The Muppets, T.J. Miller, Seth Rogen, Mel Brooks, Key and Peele, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, Tig Notaro, Bob Newhart, and Fred Armisen.

Catch him at The Improv this last week of the year that was.

Claude Stuart at The Carson Comedy Club

This past year Claude Stuart has been bringing the people in, packing comedy venues across the globe. At the same time, he hasn’t stopped making regular television appearances on shows like “The Tonight Show” and “Last Comic Standing.”

Claude’s explosive, in-your-face, rapid-fire, madman stage style is truly an exhilarating assault on the senses.

Yes, he’s been compared to physical comedians like Steve Martin, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey.

Claude’s unique brand of Don Rickles-esque crowd interaction, coupled with clever, well-written jokes makes him not only the world’s first physical insult comedian but a comedy triple threat.

His natural comedic flair was recognized early on. As a teen he interned at a local radio station and ended up writing and performing a morning show broadcast to over 30 cities nationwide. I wish he would have helped me out some — Lord knows it would have made my morning show better.

After a pit stop in Houston (where he developed his stand-up act) he eventually ended up in L.A. This lead to an extremely successful stand up career; as well as myriad appearances in feature films and television, including a spot starring with Jay Leno on the wildly popular “Undercover Jay” skit segment of “The Tonight Show.”

Some of his other credits include national commercials for products such as, Honda, Heineken, Jeep, Grapenuts and even Midol. He has appeared on “That 70’s Show,” “Scrubs,” “Comics Unleashed,” “Entertainers,” “The Best Damn Sports Period!,” “Oblivious!,” “Talk Soup” and as a regular on “The Bob and Tom Show.”

He’s worth checking out this weekend at the Carson Comedy Club inside the Carson Nugget.

Happy New Year everyone and here’s to more humor in 2019.

Shows at the Carson Comedy Club start at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Must be 21 or older.
