Four thousand people confirmed that the first Lake Tahoe Country Faire was a success. Children and adults alike were in attendance Saturday as locals and visiting families enjoyed the day of music, dance, food, games, contests, rides and more.

“I think our community was waiting for an event like this,” said Lynde Siomiak, chairwoman for the Country Faire. “People arrived before we opened the gates, and by opening, ticket lines were outside the gate and down the street.”

Siomiak added, “Closing time even ran over a bit to allow the children a few more rides and adults another song or two performed by Fog, one of our local bands.”

The organizers wish to thank everyone who came out and supported this fantastic community event, allowing them to accomplish their goal of creating an event for local and visiting families as well as being able to raise some money for various nonprofits.

Based on attendance and the positive feedback received, organizers “definitely” are going to be working toward holding a second Country Faire on the first weekend of August in 2009.
