Work continues on a $7.5 million water-quality and roadway improvement project on U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe from just west of Ski Run Boulevard to Wildwood Avenue including curbs, gutters, sidewalks, repaving and new drainage systems. The project will be finished in fall 2013.

Eastbound and westbound motorists on Highway 50 can expect closures from Fairway Avenue to Wildwood Avenue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do electrical work.

Work has ceased for this season on a $12.1 million water-quality and roadway improvement project from the “Y” intersection of Highways 50 and 89 to Lake Tahoe Airport. The project includes adding curbs, gutters, sidewalks and new drainage systems and repaving the highway. Completion is expected in fall 2014.

Motorists can expect one-way traffic control on Highway 50 from Upper Truckee Road to Cirugu Street in Meyers around the clock from midnight Monday until Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

Motorists in both directions can expect alternating lane closures on 50 at the Upper Truckee River bridge around the clock from midnight Monday until Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge striping.

Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures on Highway 50 at the Trout Creek bridge around the clock from midnight Monday until Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge striping.

Work has ceased for this season on a $41 million project from Tahoma to Tahoe City on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore that will relocate and replace gas lines, upgrade storm water drainage and treatment systems, add curbs and gutters, resurface and realign the road and widen shoulders. Sections of the bike trail will also be revamped. Completion is expected in 2016.

Work continues on Placer County’s $44 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project on State Route 28 from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. The project will install curbs, sidewalks, roundabouts and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements.

Westbound motorists on Route 28 can expect the #2 lane and shoulder closed from Coon Street to Deer Street around the clock from midnight Monday until Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

Motorists can expect one-way traffic control on State Route 28 in Tahoe Vista from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do pavement work.

Motorists can expect one-way traffic control on State Route 29 in Carnelian Bay from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at Fanny Bridge in Tahoe City from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.
