Lake Tahoe school district plans back to school night

Lake Tahoe Unified School District parents have a chance this week to meet their child’s teachers and tour the campus.

South Tahoe Middle School’s Back-to-School Night is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Bijou Community and Al Tahoe, Meyers, Sierra House and Tahoe Valley elementary schools are all hosting back-to-school night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, at individual school sites.

“Back to school night is a wonderful opportunity for parents to come meet their child’s teacher and I encourage parents to ask teachers questions,” said Dr. Diane Scheerhorn, Lake Tahoe Unified School District superintendent. “There are no dumb questions. Parents and teachers should share information. The more a teacher knows about a child, the more they can reach out to make education a (successful) experience. Parents will also have the opportunity to meet parent teacher organizations and join.”

For information on back-to-school nights, contact the district office at (530) 541-2850.
