Jim Grant / Tahoe Daily TribuneDoug Clymer of Chase International pours a cold one at Bob's on the Beach. The house was used for parties for celebrities, such as Sammy Davis Jr., Bonnie Raitt and Charlie Sheen.

Inside the gated Lighthouse Shores community in the Tahoe Keys is a house with a star-studded history.

Bob’s at the Beach has been the site of celebrity and cast parties. Harrah’s Tahoe has rented the house for those performing in its showroom. Numerous stars have slept there, including Sammy Davis Jr., Bonnie Raitt, Liberace, Steve Lawrence, Charlie Sheen, Eydie Gorme, and Wynona and Naomi Judd.

It was also one of the 33 houses featured on Chase International’s Lake Tahoe estates tour on June 24. The tour visited homes ranging from a $2.2 million condo in Incline Village to a $19.5 million estate in Tahoe City.

Many of the homes have lowered their prices. Bob’s at the Beach was listed at $7.9 million, but now is $5.9 million, said Chase International Realtor Doug Clymer.

Five lakefront properties have sold on the Nevada side since January, while two have sold in California.

“Lakefronts and high-end always take years to sell. It’s rare to see a house sell in less than a year in this price range,” according to a statement from Sue Lowe, vice president and corporate broker for Chase International. “There’s not a big buyer pool.”

Bob’s at the Beach was built by Bob Lindner, with sons Bob Jr. and Chris in 1980. The 6,500-square-foot, three-story, nautical-themed house contains four bedroom suites and an indoor pool.

Upstairs is the master suite, which has its own spa, bar, his and her bathrooms, and a small kitchenette.

All the bedrooms include a full bathroom and kitchenette too.

The middle floor contains the kitchen, living room and dining area. The kitchen contains professional cooking equipment, a pizza oven and a trash compactor with the word “trash” spelled out in broken diamonds.

The lower level is an optimum setting for parties, Clymer said. A 1949 Chris-Craft boat was made into a bar by the lounging area and the pool. The windows behind the boat bar open to an outside patio, where stools are set up for outdoor bar seating.

The patio area contains a large grill, along with two fire pits, a hot tub and 120 feet of beach.
