Lake Tahoe weather: Some snow showers possible tonight

A weak weather system is expected to move into the Lake Tahoe Basin later tonight, bringing wind and a slight chance of snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.
Today should bring partly cloudy skies through the morning turning mostly cloudy by this afternoon. High temperatures today will range from 44 to 54. Winds will be out of the south at around 10 mph then shifting west in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies will begin building in the late afternoon.
The snow level should be around 6,500 feet, with low temperatures between 16 and 26. Winds may pick up after midnight, with gusts of up to 30 mph in the basin and 75 mph along mountain ridges.
Thursday will be breezy and partly cloudy in the morning with clearing by the afternoon. Highs in the Lake Tahoe Basin on Thursday will be 37 to 47. Look for brisk and clear conditions on Thursday night into Friday morning. Lows are expected to be between 9 to 19, with northeast winds 10 to 20 mph.
The weekend forecast from Friday through Sunday looks to be spring-like with highs from 50 to 65, perfect for spring skiing and snowboarding at Tahoe resorts.
