Lake Tahoe weather: Warm and sunny weekend to follow stormy Friday

The coming weekend is expected to be warm and mostly sunny.

After the threat of thunderstorms clears out of the region Friday, Lake Tahoe is in store for another sunny and warm weekend.

Friday brings a 20% chance of precipitation, with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. Conditions will otherwise be sunny with a high temperature of 76 degrees and light winds of 5-10 mph expected in the afternoon.

The overnight low temperature will fall to 57 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to be nearly perfect summer days.

Saturday’s high temperature will climb to 79 degrees in South Lake Tahoe, according to the weather service. Conditions will be mostly sunny, with light winds around 5 mph expected in the afternoon.

The overnight low will again be in the mid 50s.

Sunday will be nearly identical to Saturday, with mostly sunny conditions and a high temperature of 80 degrees in South Lake Tahoe, according to the weather service.

The coming week is expected to start with sunny conditions and high temperatures in the high 70s.
