Lake Tahoe WinterFest goes through Sunday

Fun, good times, laughs, old friends and new ones are some of what is to be expected at the 11th annual Lake Tahoe Winterfest gay and lesbian ski week scheduled through Sunday.

Winterfest is an eight-day celebration with world-class skiing and boarding, nightly receptions, DJ dance parties and more. Lake Tahoe WinterFest provides an atmosphere of camaraderie among skiers and non-skiers alike.

As Lake Tahoe’s gay and lesbian ski week since 1996, WinterFest has a well-deserved reputation for excitement. There is only one RuPaul and only one Lake Tahoe WinterFest, organizers say.

RuPaul headlines at the Private WinterFest Rock Star Party on Saturday from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Hard Rock Cafe inside Harveys Resort Casino. Invitations are included in all VIP packages.

An international icon, RuPaul, gained worldwide attention on the dance charts with the hits “House of Love”, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” (with Elton John) and the classic mega-smash “Supermodel (You Better Work!).”

“I’m very excited about performing all of my music for the children at Lake Tahoe WinterFest,” RuPaul told organizers.
