Lake Tahoe’s Sand Harbor boat launch to open this weekend

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. – The boat launch facility at Sand Harbor will re-open Saturday, May 1, the Nevada Division of State Parks announced Monday. Launching hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the summer.

“Lake levels are still very low and launch conditions are less than ideal, especially for boats over 16 feet in length,” according to a state parks press release. “Boaters will need to use caution when launching their boats.”

Tahoe Regional Planning Agency watercraft inspections will be present during launch hours; boaters are encouraged to get watercraft inspected early due to summer crowds, the release said.
