Lambdin qualifies for Boston Marathon

In only her second career marathon race Anna Lambdin has qualified for the most prestigious of all the 26.2-mile endurance runs – the Boston Marathon.

The former South Tahoe High cross country runner made the 2011 Boston Marathon by completing the Avenue of the Giants Marathon in 3 hours, 29 minutes and 47 seconds on May 2 in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

Lambdin finished first in her age group, seventh out of 209 women and 47th overall out of 436 participants.

Ken Gerrard, a Lake Tahoe Unified School District employee, has been the only South Shore participant in the Boston Marathon the past two years.
