Lamplighter shooting

Carson City Sheriff’s detectives are following up on a Saturday morning shooting incident at a Winnie Lane bar, but it appears the firing of the weapon may have been accidental.

A report of shots fired at the Lamplighter Lounge was received at 6:21 a.m., with the caller saying she had the gun. The men reportedly involved and a vehicle description and license number were provided.

Preliminary investigation indicates that two people were trying to take the gun away from a third man and the gun discharged, according to Chief Deputy Bernie Curtis. He said detectives are investigating the possible location of the vehicle in which the men left the area.

Dispatch logs show the department received calls from two people later Saturday morning offering information about the incident.
