Landscape painter coming to Stateline area art gallery

Provided to Lake Tahoe Action

This weekend’s featured artist at Marcus Ashley Galleries is contemporary landscape painter Tina Palmer.

Palmer has been a fixture in the gallery’s collection for more than two years. Her work is distinguished by its bold color palette and unique texture. Trees set on rolling hills, meandering streams and distinctive skylines distinguish Palmer’s work. Her pieces feature jewel tones drawn with an abstract perspective.

Each original Palmer canvas is prepped with a layer of modeling clay. The technique lends the artwork a fresco-like texture which works in harmony with the organic composition layered on top of it. She uses a layered glazing and acrylic mixture to complete a textured finish.

Palmer will meet the public at Marcus Ashley Galleries from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 21-22.

Marcus Ashley Galleries is in Raley’s Village Center between Starbucks and Jamba Juice. For more information call (530) 544-4ART.
