Last week for disaster relief

Susan Wood

Only one week remains to seek relief for Californians who haven’t registered for federal and state disaster assistance for damage as a result of the end-of-year floods, the California Office of Emergency Services announced Monday.

Those seeking relief should register online at http://www.fema.gov or by calling (800) 621-FEMA or (800) 462-7585. The phone lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

El Dorado County was listed as being eligible for relief after sustaining an estimated $9 million in damage on New Year’s week.

FEMA had established emergency centers in the area with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
